'Anatomy of a Queen Bee' misprint

£45.00 On Sale

This printed perfectly except for some light green ink marks outside the top left of the bell jar and underneath the bee's bottom. See the second and third photos.

This is a six colour, two block reduction linocut print of a Queen bee featuring her digestive organs and nervous system. I wanted to highlight the fragility of these amazing insects by encasing them in a bell jar, giving them the protection they deserve. Seeing them in a museum context could be the only way to view these little creatures in the future if their numbers continue to dwindle. 5% of all sales of this print will go to The British Beekeepers Association 'Save the bees' campaign which aims to raise essential funds for research into the threats honeybees face. It is hand printed on beautiful Somerset paper using oil based inks.
